Greek Keftekes Recipe


  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tsp. ground coriander
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Lemon wedges, for serving


  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, mint, coriander, cumin, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and crispy on all sides.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  5. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.
