  • 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced thin
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce (see recipe below)


  1. In a large bowl, combine garlic powder, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Add chicken and toss to coat. Set aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, warm pita bread in the oven or microwave according to package instructions.
  4. To assemble gyros, divide chicken evenly among the four pita breads. Top with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce.
  5. Fold pita breads in half and serve immediately.

Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tsp. salt

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients and stir until well mixed. Refrigerate until ready to use.
