  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the grape leaves under running water and drain well.
  3. In a large bowl, combine rice, onion, parsley, mint, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Add ground beef or lamb if desired.
  4. Place one grape leaf flat on a cutting board, shiny side down.
  5. Place 1 tablespoon of rice mixture in the center of the leaf.
  6. Roll the leaf up around the filling, tucking in the sides as you go to form a tight roll.
  7. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling, placing the rolls close together in a baking dish.
  8. Pour broth over the rolls and cover the dish with foil.
  9. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the rolls are tender.
  10. Serve hot with a side of tzatziki sauce for dipping.
