Greek Chicken Gyro Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pita bread
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Red onion, sliced
  • Cucumbers, sliced
  • Feta cheese, crumbled
  • Tzatziki sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Marinate chicken strips in the mixture for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread chicken strips onto skewers and grill for 6-8 minutes per side, until cooked through.
  5. Warm pita bread on the grill or in a microwave.
  6. Assemble each gyro by placing chicken strips, tomatoes, red onion, cucumbers, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce onto a pita bread and wrapping it up tightly.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
