I realize these things are quite subjective, but I’ve always considered this baked tuna and noodle dish to be the king of the comfort food casseroles. Except for maybe mac and cheese, which is sort of in a category by itself. This is the simplest version I know, and probably my favorite.

  1. I'm a 'woman of a certain age, ' and have never made tuna noodle casserole. I make this confession under the anonymity of the internet. 😉

  2. I made this and it was so good. I used organic mild cheddar and might use medium next time. I used buttered Panko bread crumbs with fresh parmesan. May add a little garlic and celery next time but just awesome.

  3. I just tried this recipe and it was absolutely delicious! A winner in my household. I live in NYC and thus aren't really familiar with casseroles. 😏 But this dish looked so good I had to make it. The crust was crunchy and the dish was so creamy. Loved it! Thank you!

  4. I made this and the sauce was bland, which made it underwhelming to my family. What did I do wrong? I followed the recipe to a 't'. Should I have up-ed the salt?

  5. I’ve always hated tuna casserole. But love tuna. Decided to give this a try because your food never fails me. Let’s just say I’m a tuna casserole lover now but only this one!!! Thanks!

  6. I’m new to chef John’s channel. Just wanted to thank you for such amazing practical recipes. I have already made your tuna noodle casserole and coconut curry. Both easy. supper yummy recipes. Will definitely Cooke more recipes.

  7. Thanks Chef J for the inspiration. Changed up the basic recipe by adding crimini mushrooms and diced carrots in when sweating the onions. Skipped the cheddar but added in some pepper jack. Also added diced green chilies. Yes we did ENJOY.

  8. I have been missing the old hip hop references- but Sally Bowls? Caberet? May I speak with complete Kander- the Ebb and Flow is life. ( Messy- but I appreciate my Hustle😉)

  9. This was absolutely delicious! I just made it and all 5 family members went back for seconds, at least. Your instructions are always perfect which yields amazing dishes! Thank you for never disappointing!
