  1. Funny, the minute I saw the onion stuffed with peanut butter, my first thought was that it would probably actually taste good, since I've eaten Thai peanut sauce (made with peanut butter) with noodles and veggies (including onions), and the flavors go well together. And of course, they all loved it! …Maybe I'll try it sometime! (But def not $#!7 on a Shingle!) 😉

  2. You'll be surprised by how creative you can get with food when you are broke. I learned that while in college. I used to make these unique, creative recipes of what I had. And it was always good! Survival of the fittest!

  3. Onion,weed,vinegar,prune..Did you notice that the ingredient are indeed less processed and healthier than today's diet. I believe most of them are tasty if cooked with lots of love. I am grateful for what we have now but I think having less processed food would make us stronger in mind and body, this is my take away from today's kid's try, love these children, they are awesome!

  4. Marina, it’s not “stealing” 🙄🙄🙄 it’s survival. Y’all really teaching lies to a smart kid who knows what to do if she was starving in a broke economy. (FYI, this is a serious comment. Adults really should mind what they’re saying or explaining to children… that baby girl was smart to answer “I’ll sneak into a store and get cookies.”)

  5. I've heard about the peanut butter onions during the Great Depression! I always thought it sounded SO weird, but everyone on here seemed to love it – I guess I might have to actually try it sometime
