Entry Requirements and Prep for France Vlog: https://youtu.be/t6zvSQ5D_Tk
Hi guys welcome to aclaireytale!!! Welcome to a brand new series of Greece Vlogs!! Come join us as we head to Athens!! I don’t talk in the video about all the things you have to do test wise as I went over this all in the France vlogs and things change so quickly. If you do want to see about precautions I have linked the video above.
This vlog is of our last days in Athens! We also have a second part of the trip in Glyfada which I don’t film, hope you understand! I did get some food clips though, gotta love the Greek food!!!
This vlog start off with us walking out of our Hotel. We are staying at the Herodion Hotel, here’s the link if you would like to look:
We had such a good stay here, really well situated for all the sites in Athens. Simon grabs a famous greek coffee from Coffee Island. We go past Hadrian’s Gate and the Temple of Zeus on our walk into Zappeion Gardens and Zappeion Hall. These are beautiful gardens, they even had ruins in there too. We walk out the other side and see the famous Greek guards marching. They were amazing.
We walked a little further and arrived at the Athens Olympic Stadium, Panathenaic Stadium. This was the first stadium of the modern olympics. It’s a white horseshoe stadium and is the world’s only arena made completely from marble! It was amazing to be there! We ran on the running track and walked up to the top to get a good view. Underneath the stadium is a little museum and shrine. We walked back through Zappeion gardens and got some brunch in Athens. Simon had spanakopita and I got a koulouri. We sat outside the National Parliament building.
We went to the shop to get some souvenirs, then walked back up the acropolis to get a great view of Athens on top of a rock. The hill was called Areopagus Hill and we get an amazing 360 of the whole city. You could see the Acropolis, the ancient agoras, Lycabettus Hill, Philopappos Hill, and the coast where we were heading later on. We went back to the hotel for our usual hot tub with a view of the acropolis. We went back to Opos Palia for dinner as we loved it there so much, proper greek traditional food. Saganaki, greek meatballs, courgette balls and baked feta. We finished the meal with some fruit. We went on a late night stroll and then head into the next day! We have breakfast in our room and check out of the hotel. I show you how the greek make their famous coffee. We have a last wander around Athens seeing the acropolis, the acropolis museum and we go up Philopappos Hill again (hill of muses). We enjoy a bit of greek music and then get a taxi to the coast for our second part of the trip. I did not film much this part of the trip but I do show you bits of Glyfada, famous for its beaches and marinas. I show you some of the boats and the shops. I film a couple of our meals and then that’s it!! I hope you enjoy the final Athens vlog!!!!
Stay tuned next week for the next trip!!!
