This is a review for the Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker.
I mostly use this to make Greek yogurt (which takes about 4-6 hours)

  1. This is a great product for making Labna! The amount of whey depends on how watery the yogurt is that you use. I use low fat Greek yogurt and it makes terrific Labna … just prepare as shown and leave in the fridge for 24 hours or overnight … the longer you leave it the more whey is removed.

  2. So not to knock this product but I use flour sack cloths(5 pack for $10) , add two containers of yogurt and hang in my mini fridge overnight for a cream cheese consistency, hand wash the cloth and air dry and can reuse them over and over unlike cheesecloth. I made a cheesecake the other day with it and make Tzatziki sauce all the time, it comes out perfect and you can make large batches.

  3. reviews I am very disappointed that you did not show the true honest finished thick Greek style yogurt you claim this item makes.

I also wonder because of the other youtube member AlphaLady777 whose reply below using this item you recommend was negative, and stated otherwise.

  4. It made about a half gallon of Greek yogurt. Saved a cup of the whey and froze it. I'll thaw it to use as my starter for the next batch. The rest of they whey I've been baking in bread/rolls/pancakes/muffins. I'm pretty happy with this. Much easier than a cheese cloth since you can put it in the dishwasher.

  5. Worked like a charm! Bought a normal gallon of skim milk from the store. Heated it to 180F in a crock pot (used my meat thermometer to check the temp) Let the milk cool to 115F. Added half a cup of Fage Greek yogurt and let it sit in my oven with the light on for 12 hours. Put the yogurt in the Donvier strainer (obviously it took quite a few batches to go through it all) for two hours and I had perfect Greek yogurt.

  6. I have my first batch in the fridge now with one of these. When I wrote about it on Facebook one of my friends said she has one and it works great. I guess I'll find out in about four more hours. 🙂 Great video!

  7. Sure! Looks good — but why did you not show the final product?? I'll tell you why, because this nifty kitchen tool does not work that great. I bought one and was severely disappointed. Out of a 32 oz. container of whole milk Trader Joe's plain yogurt, I only got (maybe) 4 tablespoons of "yogurt cheese." Bummer……
